Production Assistant, Segment Unit, PBS NewsHour         May 2023 – Present 

Assisted with over 200 in-depth, 3-8-minute segments covering News, Politics, Foreign Affairs, National Affairs, and Canvas Arts/Culture with 6 p.m. day-of turnaround.

Segment rotation: Worked closely with producers to locate and sequence b-roll material. Transcode/organize files, fact check, and create L3, courtesy, and other graphics for segments in reparation for editor, tacking quickly with news. Used AVID-based iNEWS, Frame.io, Trint, Reuters/AP/ABC newsrooms and proprietary footage database MediaCentral daily. 

News desk rotation: Monitor incoming wire footage and TV feeds, write 20 second news summary stories, edit summary stories in AVID — all while on-call for any daily segment rotation needs.

Digital Rotation: Produced cutdowns of segments for social media using Premiere Pro.


Documentary Production Intern, WETA PBS                             Jan. 2023 – May 2023

Pitched and developed 2 documentary segments to producer of WETA Arts, a monthly half-hour documentary magazine show highlighting local artists, broadcast on Washington’s flagship PBS station.

Organized and coordinated 3 field shoots for one story. Directed one field shoot.

Collected, aggregated hundreds of b-roll materials ensuring licensing compliance. Annotated EDLs, AFLs and filed receipts. Acted as AC, boom operator, grip and/or production assistant on 6 shoots.
